This is the NEWEST ITEM on the market for getting your AR-15 up to "HIGH SPEED".
MGI is introducing the new QCB (Quick Change Barrel) upper receiver assembly for any AR-15/M4 type rifle or carbine. It consists of a new M4-flattop upper receiver with Picattinny rail, and the new MGI QCB system that integrates a ventilated free float hand guard tube, a pre-installed special barrel extension holder, and a lever-operated cam barrel fixing system, all in one package that is ready to drop onto your existing AR-15 type lower receiver! Barrels are not included with this system, and you can remove and use your existing barrel with no modification.
Just open the levers, pop in a new barrel/gas tube, close the levers, and you are ready to go! No more buying a new upper for each barrel! You can change to a new barrel length, different twist rate, and/or different caliber in just a few seconds, and you only need one upper receiver that is included with this system!
The upper receiver that is included in this system is a mil-spec M4 type receiver with flattop and Picatinny rail. The forward assist mechanism and ejection port cover assembly are also included. It is finished in a mil-spec finish that is a perfect match for your lower. The receiver is specially modified to accept the MGI QCB system that replaces the existing barrel nut with a pair of high precision lever-operated cams that hold the barrel w/extension in place to ensure repeatable accuracy, yet allow quick removal/replacement of barrels. A strong metal free-float hand guard tube is included as a part of this MGI QCB system, which provides greater accuracy in supported shooting positions, as well as allowing quick barrel removal/replacement, and is equipped with Picatinny accessory rails on each side and the bottom. Ventilation holes for excellent cooling of the barrel are provided. The free-float hand guard is finished in a durable black texture coating and looks fantastic on the gun!
This QCB upper unit was designed for military Special Forces and law enforcement use, and is totally reliable, repeatable accuracy, heavy-duty but lightweight, and user friendly. It gives versatility to the AR-15 family that has never been available before. You can keep one sight/scope mounted on the sight rail, and just change barrels and re-zero. No more duplicating sights/scopes to keep on each of your uppers. You can do it all now on one upper. To do a caliber change, you just pop in the appropriate barrel, change the bolt head and the magazine for the caliber you want, and you are ready to lock and load! For 5.56, you just change barrels in a few seconds from an entry barrel, to a duty barrel, to a sniper/precision barrel.
NO SPECIAL BARRELS ARE NEEDED. THIS SYSTEM WILL USE ANY AR-15 TYPE BARREL WITH NO MODIFICATIONS NEEDED! You can remove your existing barrel w/extension from your existing upper receiver and use it in this system. NO BARRELS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS KIT.
This system comes from MGI, which is a leader in high-speed arms systems and has been a supplier of small arms and parts to the US Military, law enforcement, and the public in the past. The designer, Mack Gwinn Jr., designed the FN Browning M2 .50 caliber quick-change barrel system for the military, and that has been in use for many years. He was the original founder and owner of the Bushmaster Firearms Company, but is not affiliated with them at this time. He has designed numerous other weapons and parts, including the highly regarded Counterpoise recoil and rate-reduction system, the D-Fender extractor improvement system, and the adjustable gas tube system for the AR-15 family. The D-Fender is proudly serving our troops in Iraq in large numbers at this time, as well as many of our law-enforcement and SWAT units in this country.
